چکیده

We characterize the coordinate functions of Hilbert's space-lling curve using a directed-graph iterated function system and use this to analyze their fractal properties. In particular, we show that both coordinate functions have graphs of Hausdorr dimension 3 2 and level sets of dimension 1 2 .

The Hausdorff Dimension of Hilbert ' S

Remarks on the Geometry of Coordinate Projections in R

We study geometric properties of coordinate projections. Among other results, we show that if a body K ⊂ R has an “almost extremal” volume ratio, then it has a projection of proportional dimension which is close to the cube. We also establish a sharp estimate on the shattering dimension of the convex hull of a class of functions in terms of the shattering dimension of the class itself.

Solving large classes of nonlinear systems of PDEs

It is shown that large classes of nonlinear systems of PDEs, with possibly associated initial and/or boundary value problems, can be solved by the method of order completion. The solutions obtained can be assimilated with Hausdorff continuous functions. The usual NavierStokes equations, as well as their various modifications are included as particular cases. The solution method does not involve...
